Course Description:

Since the introduction in the early 2000s, Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) has become a widely adopted and used radiographic modality in dentistry. As with any technological advancement, many questions arise when considering bringing the technology into clinical practice. This course is designed to minimize the confusion and maximize the potential of CBCT technology in today’s modern dental office. Drs. Duplantis and Mehta will provide an in-depth analysis of both the benefits of CBCT for the dental practice and the importance of third-party interpretation. This course will be beneficial to dentists and teams that both have and/or are looking for a CBCT in their office.

Course Objectives:

  • Form a better understanding of the fundamentals of the CBCT technology.
  • Visualize the capabilities of CBCT and how they have changed over the years.
  • Develop a protocol for reading the images in a consistent manner.
  • Discuss when, why and how to refer the images for interpretation by a third party.
  • Share cases and findings through interpretation by a board certified Neuroradiologist.
