Course Description:
Let’s face it, it can be challenging to get the entire team calibrated, especially when it comes to our periodontal protocols. Often, clinicians are left with performing a higher level of care than they bill out for due to the lack of clarify on the protocol, lack of the verbal skills they need to tell a long-term “prophy” patient they are in a higher level of disease, or not having the support from the business team to understand what needs to be submitted to insurance to enhance the patient’s coverage. This three-part series is designed to enhance the team approach to building a soft-tissue management program and will highlight the AAP classifications, treatment modalities, maintenance protocols, risk assessment and management, evidence-based practices, and so much more.
Course Description Part 2: Pocket Decontamination: Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities October 7
Red complex bacteria are resistant to scaling and root planning alone. Therefore, we must provide a comprehensive approach to the dangerous pathogens that have systemic effects on our patients. Often, offices struggle to uphold the AAP recommendation to keep periodontal patients at a higher frequency of care. Patient compliance relies on them being able to experience a difference between their “regular cleanings” and periodontal therapy. Join me for this webinar as we discuss how to provide an evidence-based approach to soft tissue management both chairside and through homecare modalities.
Course Objectives Part 2:
- Review the biofilm burden and the systemic effects it has on the body
- Discover how to differentiate the appointments from a prophy to a periodontal maintenance
- Compare chairside and homecare technologies to maximize clinical outcomes
- Identify a road map of when and what to recommend based on the patient’s clinical case
