SUMMARY:Dentistry Retreat Lake Oconee 2026
DESCRIPTION:Agenda:\nBreakfast & registration – 7:00 a.m.\nLecture  – 8:00 – 12:00 p.m.\nAfternoon Activities – 12:30 p.m. \nThis event includes additional optional activities including: Golf\, Spa or Clay Shooting !\nFor more information on attending this special event contact education@atlantadental.com or call 1.833.872.9203 \nTuition Cost:\n$499 per person (prior to March 28\, 2026)\n$550 per person (after March 28\, 2026)\n*Tuition includes up to 4 CE Credits and and activity of your choice!\nLecture ONLY – $325 per person \nCE: 4 Lecture CE Credits\nCE Code Course: 550\nPrerequisites: None \nCourse Title: Turning Ordinary into Extraordinary \nCourse Description: Every office is made up of individuals who all possess a multitude of flaws. In even the most dynamic\, successful\, consistently happy organizations\, there still exist flawed individuals\, far from perfect. How did a group of ordinary people create something extraordinary? Vision\, systems\, personal reflection\, honesty about our own unique drawbacks\, along with many more pragmatic and attainable frameworks that all dental offices can create. Dr. Gupta will not only introduce steps to take to optimize the practice structure but will also challenge each participant to reflect upon their own personal daily habits and routines\, and how small changes can lead to a much-improved practice and personal life. \nCourse Objectives: \n\nGain strategies and tools for inspiring a culture of self-directed leaders in the practice\nExplore a culture of autonomy in which team members feel ownership with practice improvement and implementation\nCompletely re-think the norms of the patient experience\nDiscover the #1 happiness and relationship killer that also affects your ability to perform more comprehensive dentistry\nIntroducing dynamic and underutilized clinical changes that are valuable\, needed by patients\, but also easy on our back and hand\n\nMeet the Instructor: Dr Ankur Gupta \nAnkur A Gupta\, DDS\, after completing a one-year GPR in Cleveland\, started a practice from scratch in 2005. Armed with what he considered adequate dental knowledge\, hand skills\, and a personable demeanor\, he watched as his practice floundered\, finances became unpredictable\, and his lower back and spirit toward his profession became worrisome. Rather than continue the trend\, he made a guinea pig out of his office\, family\, and self\, attempting any and all personal and professional “experiments” in self-improvement. More than a decade later\, he enjoys excellent new patient numbers and case  oriented dental team; and most importantly\, a meaningful and positive identity. He happily shares the failures and successes with dental and community groups throughout the country\, always ending his presentations with practical\, implementable\, step-by-step ways to be better.\nDr. Gupta graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2004. In 2005\, after completing a one-year General Practice Residency in Cleveland\, Ohio\, he and his partner Dr. Nisha Gupta started North Ridgeville Family Dentistry. In addition to founding North Ridgeville Family Dentistry\, Dr. Gupta is a member of the American Dental Association\, Greater Cleveland Dental Society\, Ohio Dental Association\, ADA Success Speaker Corp and an active board member and a speaker for Catapult Education’s Speaker Bureau.

SUMMARY:Winning the Cyber War: A Battle Plan to Protect Your Practice
DESCRIPTION:Tuition Cost: AIDA members: $9.99 per person\nGeneral Admission: $19.99 per person \nCE: 1 Lecture CE Credits\nCE Code: 550\nPrerequisites: None \nCourse Description: \nWith the swift uptick in cyberattacks against the dental community this past year\, ensuring your practice is properly secured from digital intruders is a necessity. Over 90% of practices believe they are secure\, but in reality\, their cyber prevention measures fall short of truly protecting them from the latest sophisticated threats. Cybersecurity doesn’t need to be overly complex to implement\, and starting with a few simple security improvements can reduce your exposure significantly. \nThe growing number of digital technologies\, applications\, and cloud systems your practice utilizes can greatly increase the probability of a data breach. This course will teach you: how to identify the most common risks for a breach in your systems and processes\, help reduce vulnerabilities to minimize the likelihood of an attack and provide best practices to create an effective battle plan to improve security in your own practice. \nCourse Objectives: \n\nUnderstand the consequences of data theft faced by modern dental practices and learn how to safeguard patient records and other sensitive information from malicious hackers.\nDiscover the offensive and defensive breach prevention steps that all practices should be implementing with their staff and systems\nLearn the key elements of mitigating risk with any third-party vendors and technologies used by the practice and the importance of a documented incident response plan.\n\nAn interactive question and answer session will be held at the end of the course. \nMeet the Instructors: Dr. John Flucke\, DDS \nDr. John Flucke is in private practice in Lee’s Summit\, Missouri where he spends two days per week in direct patient care.  He also serves as Chief Dental Editor as well as Technology Editor for Dental Products Report magazine where he writes\, edits\, and does video “Test Drives” of products featured in his “Technology Evangelist’ columns. As with any technological advancement\, many questions arise when considering bringing the technology into clinical practice. This course is designed to minimize the confusion and maximize the potential of CBCT technology in today’s modern dental office.\nIn the first half of this course\, Dr. Duplantis will provide an in-depth analysis of both the benefits of CBCT for the dental practice and the importance of third-party interpretation. Following the didactic portion\, Dr. Duplantis will walk the attendees through a few hand-selected cases for interpretation. This will be a hands-on and interactive element that you won’t want to miss. This course will be most beneficial to dentists\, yet team members will benefit as well.\n*Limit of 10 doctors MAX per session; however\, the doctor may bring assistants.\n**Due to limited availability\, the computers will be limited to doctors wanting to participate in the hands-on portion. All other attendees will \ncertainly be able to watch and gain insight throughout the hands-on portion \nCourse Objectives Breakout Session #1: \n\nForm a better understanding of the fundamentals of the CBCT technology\nVisualize the capabilities of CBCT and how they have changed over the years\nDevelop a protocol for reading the images in a consistent manner\nDiscuss when\, why\, and how to refer the images for interpretation by a third party\n\nCourse Description Breakout Session #2: \nTreating periodontal disease not only improves oral health\, it also reduces a chronic infectious burden on patients’ immune system. Unfortunately\, it is one of the most underdiagnosed diseases. It is also difficult to treat successfully. 47% of American adults over 30 have periodontitis. The disease rate climbs to 70% for those 65 years and older. Antibiotics have been prescribed for decades and still the incidence of disease is high. You can treat active gingival infections with long-term success using adjunctive prescription tray delivery of hydrogen peroxide gel deep into periodontal pockets. Research shows that this delivery combined with SRP leads to more significant pocket depth and bleeding reductions than SRP alone (www.perioprotect.com/research). Perio Tray therapy also makes your restorative work better.\nAttend this presentation to learn the science behind the delivery\, case presentation ideas\, and everyday business calculations. The final hour\nwill review treatment options and offer a case presentation workshop. \nCourse Objectives Breakout Session #2: \n\nIdentify the benefits and limitations of antimicrobials with oxidative and oxygenating reactions for biofilm management\nRecognize patient candidates who can benefit from Rx Tray therapy and the appropriate tray treatment protocol\nCompare patient results with a simple number that helps patients understand the importance of treatment\n\nMeet the Instructors: Dr Chad Duplantis\, DDS FAGD \n\nDr. Duplantis received his D.D.S. degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School in 1999.
