SUMMARY:Compliance Doesn’t Have To Be Boring!
DESCRIPTION:Agenda:\nBreakfast & registration – 8 a.m.\nLecture – 9 a.m.\nLunch – 12-1 p.m.\nDismissal – 3 p.m. \nTuition Cost: AIDA members: $89 per person\nGeneral Admission: $129 per person\n*Tuition includes breakfast and lunch \nCE: 5 Lecture CE Credits Total\nCE Code: 148\nPrerequisite: None \nCourse Description: Join us for an information-packed morning! Presented by three dynamic speakers – Ronda Anderson\, Joe Mayne and Mary Govoni – their years of experience\, vast knowledge on compliance topics\, and great presentation skills offer you a compliance course you won’t soon forget. \nRonda will kick-off the morning by “Elevating your Standard Precautions” of infection control\, where you will learn efficiencies in dental instrument processing\, sterilization flow and effective room turn around that will give you a safe\, sustainable workflow and even some extra time. This course will not only meet your infection control requirements\, it will EXCEED IT! \nJoe will then “distill” waterline compliance down to one question – “Would You Drink It?” Many offices use the “out of sight – out of mind” mentality for patient use water\, but all clinicians know CFU’s can contaminate the AWS and the aerosols we work with. This dive into dental unit waterlines will provide actionable protocol steps you can take right away to answer the question – “Yes! I would drink it!” \nLastly\, Mary will bring us the latest with “What’s New with OSHA\, CDC and Infection Prevention and Control” to meet your annual requirement for safety training – enabling participants to review their safety protocols and make necessary updates. Mary will also present “Is your Practice Truly HIPAA Compliant\, and Your Patient Data Secure?” to meet your annual requirement for HIPAA training and review compliance requirements. Special emphasis will be placed on needed security risk assessments and implementation of security protocols to protect patient information from security breaches. \nCourse Objectives: \n\nReview CDC Guidelines for instrument processing\nDiscover the best design for the sterilization area for maximum efficiency\nLearn about new technology for creating protocols in your practice\nHear about latest health alerts around dental unit water lines\nLearn proper techniques for testing the water in your practice\nLearn how source water can affect your equipment and biofilm content\nDiscuss documentation and training requirements for compliance with OSHA regulations\nImplement strategies for compliance with all federal\, state\, and local safety standards\nAssess the practices’ compliance with CDC infection control guidelines\nDiscuss the responsibilities that dental practices have under HIPAA rules\nEvaluate your practices’ level of compliance with security protocols for patient information\nImplement strategies for enhancing security measures in the face of increasing security threats\n\n  \nMeet the Instructors: Mary Govoni\, CDA\, RDH\, MBA \n\nMary Govoni brings 50+ years of experience in dentistry to the team. She is a certified Dental Assistant and a Registered Dental Hygienist\, with experience in general and specialty practices\, both clinically and as an administrator. Mary is a former dental assisting educator and was a partner in a successful dental staffing service. \nFor the past 30 years\, Mary has focused on speaking and consulting with dental teams on infection prevention\, OSHA compliance\, HIPAA compliance\, ergonomics\, chairside efficiency\, and team communication and development. Mary has published numerous articles in professional journals. She is a past president of the American Dental Assistants Association\, serves on the Dimensions of Dental Hygiene’s Corporate Council\, is a member of the Speaking Consulting Network\, and the Organization for Safety Asepsis and Prevention. \nMary’s latest collaboration is with several of her colleagues\, known as The Compliance Divas\, presenting weekly podcasts on infection control\, OSHA and HIPAA\, and other regulatory topics affecting dentistry. \n\n\n\nMeet the Instructors: Joe Mayne\n\nJoe entered the industry through the dental unit waterline segment. This experience showed how even small dental office water issues often point to more compliance issues. He has been recognized by HuFriedy Group as a go-to resource for waterline protocol and shares his expertise with professional associations and clinicians in his region of Kansas\, Missouri\, and Southern Illinois.\n\n\n\nMeet the Instructors: Ronda Anderson\n\nRonda has been in the Dental Industry for over 30 years. During her time as a distributer representative she realized the need for education in her offices. They needed help resourcing information on the latest in Government Compliance and Infection Control. So\, she became a trainer in OSHA and Infection Control to help her customers learn about proper guidelines and protocols. This became a passion that has now culminated with her current employment at HuFriedy Group\, where she consults with dental offices every day to help them become more efficient\, compliant\, and safe.\n\n\n \n
