Course Title #1: Help! OSHA is Here! What do I do now? OSHA Training

Course Description #1:
If an OSHA inspector walks through the door, you want to have confidence that you are prepared and you know how to best handle this situation with these program tips. Learn how to prepare for an audit through training, policies and self-audits. This course will address common OSHA violations and non-compliance with CDC’s infection control guidelines in dental practices. This will help you to avoid compliance blunders in your dental practice and promote safety for your employees and your patients.

  • Understand the documentation requirements for OSHA compliance and how you can keep your plans up to date
  • Provide the training required for your team and the topics that must be included
  • Set up a quality control system that provides a solid audit trail
  • Avoid fines and penalties by learning the common violations

 

Course Title #2: HIPAA & Cybersecurity for Dental Professionals: How to Avoid a Million-Dollar Mistake

Course Description #2: Penalties for HIPAA violations include civil monetary penalties up to $2 million. The average cost of a healthcare data breach in itself is almost $11 million. Mitigate your risk by educating yourself on the latest HIPAA and cybersecurity issues for dental professionals.

  • Gain an understanding of the basic requirements of HIPAA’s Privacy Rule and Security Rule

Course Description #3:This program focuses on ethical principles and the code of conduct as it relates to dentistry. Avoid an ethical dilemma through advanced preparation.

Course Objectives #3:

  • Review the ethical principles and how it applies to dentistry
  • Do good: Focus on how we do good for our patients in staying current on our skill set and experience
  • Do no harm: Review how compliance with current infection prevention and control guidelines complies with the principle of do no harm
  • Avoid fraudulent insurance and billing practices
  • Maintain the patient’s autonomy and confidentiality

Meet the Instructor:Olivia Wann

Olivia founded Modern Practice Solutions in the year 2000 and consults with practices nationwide on managing risk in a complex regulatory environment. She focuses on OSHA, infection control, HIPAA, and human resource management. She’s been a featured speaker at the Hinman Dental Meeting, the American Dental Association meeting, Star of the North and numerous state association meetings as well as local district dental meetings.

Olivia graduated from Nashville School of Law with a Doctorate in Jurisprudence. She also graduated magna cum laude from St. Joseph’s College of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration. Olivia spent her early years as a dental office manager and RDA. Olivia was one of the contributing authors for the ADA’s publication, Managing the Regulatory Environment: Best Practices as well as the ADA Guide to OSHA Compliance for Dental Offices and the ADA OSHA Training Guidance for the Dental Team.

Olivia also owns and manages The Law Office of Olivia Wann & Associates PLLC and serves as the city attorney for the Town of Dover. Olivia and her husband, Kevin, reside in Dover, Tennessee, where they enjoy the country life.
