COURSE TITLE #1: Diamonds and Pearls Are Practice’s Best Friend: Treatment Planning and Case Presentation
Course Description #1: It’s no secret: employees are a company’s greatest asset, especially in a dental practice! Therefore, leveraging key patient experience-moments will have huge benefits and in turn, will maximize your practice profits. This course is designed to provide piles of “diamonds” on clinical techniques and treatment planning “pearls” essential to seeing long-term success and financial growth. From understanding patient decision-making to the tools and tips for getting patients to be “WOW-ed” with the overall experience, this course is designed to give a practical, “soup-to-nuts” approach to the latest clinical research, approaches to human behavior and includes special emphasis on team communication.
Course Objectives #1:
- Learn current trends in today’s general practice and the market we exist in today
- Talk common sense, “real-world” approach to treatment planning, and the benefits of “Co-Diagnosis”
- Understand personality styles via the DISC model of human behavior
- Review clinical cases for the application of principles and products
Meet the Instructor: Dr. Timothy M. Bizga, DDS, FAGD
Timothy M. Bizga, DDS, FAGD is a general dentist practicing in Cleveland, Ohio. His background in dentistry is lengthy and diverse. Once a former chairside assistant, he also worked as a dental lab technician, making his perspective unique among others in the field of dentistry. He received his DDS from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association and a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Bizga is a Certified John Maxwell Speaker/Trainer/Coach, a certified DISC profile trainer, clinical consultant for The Dental Advisor, and Director of Education at Smile Source. Dr. Bizga gives back to the community via dental missions around the world.
COURSE TITLE #2: Digital Dentistry – A to Z
Course Description #2: Dr. York will present current information on in-office CAD-CAM, including intraoral scanners and scanning methods for crowns, bridges, custom abutments, implant surgical guides and night guards. Incorporated into this presentation will be in-office milling and 3D printing. This course should help you decide if an in-office laboratory flow for many of the things your office may be currently sending out would be beneficial to you and your patients. Exocad will also be presented as the design software.

- Moving from an analog to digital workflow for many everyday procedures
- Utilizing current technologies for design and fabrication in-office, which keeps much of your current laboratory dollars under your roof
- Navigating the ROI and financial decisions on whether this is right for your office, and if so, what is the next step
Meet the Instructor: Dr. John York
Dr. John York has practiced General Dentistry in his hometown of Arab, AL since graduating from the UAB School of Dentistry in 1993. While owning and operating North Alabama Smiles, PC, he has been fortunate to serve others through the dental profession. He is also extremely passionate about utilizing digital dentistry to increase the quality and efficiency of restorative care. Dr. York is in his second year of serving on the Alabama Board of Dental Examiners, and he also serves on the board for the non-profit Restore Dental organization, serving the dental needs of the underserved. He is very involved at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church in Arab, where he leads two men’s classes on a weekly basis, and is also a member of the technology team. He and his wife Janna have four children and one grandchild who they spend as much time with as possible.

Course Description #3: Hygiene is an essential component of effective practice, and the collaboration between Doctor and Hygienist plays a vital role in achieving optimal patient outcomes. This course emphasizes the importance of harnessing this professional relationship to enhance the quality of patient care.

- Review team dynamics and daily challenges
- Provide common sense strategies to more effective communication between doctor and hygienist
